how do you use Cheese to Make a Pizza Taste good ?

Lol but Honestly the question sounds to wierd for me too answer its like how do you use Drums to Make a Track sound Dope ? You just do .

If what you mean is how do you Chop up a Sample and Flip it into something of your own well you can do this by Getting your self a Wav Editor such as Sound Forge , or Adobe Audition and Grabbing Sections of a Song you Like Try Just grabbin 4, or 8 bars outta song you like and then try Chopping it up and Rearranging your Chops

A Good Program also is Recycle it Chops up the Sample for you into Indvidual Hits and you can either save it as a REX file or Wave and if you have a Midi Controller (keyboard or Pads) then you can Freak the Shit out of the Sample on that by playing your Chops in a New Rearrange Order Made by you .

Hope that Helps .

Oh ya where abouts in T.O ?

Downtown Toronto, an i didnt mean literally what i should do, i meant like in general what are some things people do to samples in the industry :) sorry about the wording

like info on flipping what it does, chopping what it does...ect just the basics of working with a sample...

thats basically what i meant, i should have wrote it out as 'give me some tips on how i can use sampling, so that i can then make my tracks dope' :)

The key to making a sample into a hot song is understanding the sample itslef. All of my production is sample based (I'm waiting on a Yamaha Motif Rack). Go to a website call the-breaks.com. Go into the forums and look at the requests links. U can find some of the samples used in the most recent songs. That will give you a good idea of maybe how to flip some samples. But when it comes to chopping the sample up, there are infinit ways of doing it.

When I use the term "flipping a sample" i'm referring to the way the beat maker took the sample from the source he's using i.e. old record, movie, or whatever then altered the sample to be different.

When I use the term "chopping a sample" i'm referring to where and how the beatmaker broke the sample up and then put it back together in his own way.

Disregard my ranting if i get too far in left field.

I think I get what you are asking...In general, most beats are built AROUND the sample. In other words, what you sample (say the dope bassline & keys from The Doors' "Riders of the Storm") you sample that, put it into a seqeunce running at the same tempo as original song (for this example only). Let it loop awhile until you hear a beat in your head. Next, find the drums that will compliment your sample. Once you find the right drums, then bang out your drum pattern. That's the meat of the track right there. Everything else you add be it samples or stuff you play (or both) is just seasoning! This really involves listening to a lot of records. Keeping an attentive ear. On occasion during your listening you'll say, "Hey, that record would sound good to a different beat!" When you do that, You as a (sampling) producer will have the job of bringing what you've just heard off an old record or whatever and giving it new life with some hip hop flavor!!

Hope that answer's your question.
