Question about Kontakt and the MPC

Do these two things operate the same way, I mean I know they are both samplers but the MPC can work as a drum machine too right? Can Kontact work in a somwhat similiar fashion?

yes and no. on kontakt you can load .wav files, but it isnt a phrase sampler (at least from my experience, but then i have not tried it as a phrase sampler) in the sense that an mpc is. it doesnt sequence either, and you have to use it in conjunction with a sequencer where as the mpc is a sequencer first, sampler second.
