Does being a rapper/producer give you an edge when it comes to beat making. For example when I start hearing lyrics in my head I know if a certain beat has rhyme potential because (at least to me) some thacks are just better for vibing to (listen to) or singer's tracks and other are "rhyme ready". well to me sometimes thats the case-

Yes it does give you an edge.....if you rap and are good at it<<<< a good MC has an ear for a good beat....they can even find beats that have enough of a rhythm to flow to...that sometimes a producer cannot.....I know some MC's that are good enuff to make their own beats and they sometimes do make hott shidd......or at least are good at arranging the music for an MC

i guess im kinda in the middle .....i say that because even though i have never rapped on any of my beats its only because i chose not to i feel like the potential is ther...not sure how good i would be though...i feel i have the same hear that a lyrcist would have for a beat...i know if a person can flow on it and if they can what kinda flow they would put to it..which definitly helps with production skills

MC / Producer.. Yeah I am.. But I've been rhyming way before I started producing. I think I'm definitly a better MC. Been spiting since 88. Been producing since 2000. So If i had to pick and choose I'd rather spit than Produce.. But I can't stop producing.. It's like a drug that I'm hooked on..

I wit bigdmakintrax but, too most being a rapper is first and foremost so they pic up ground and become producers.
