i'm sure there's an option that i'm overlooking, but i can't seem to find it. i have sonar 4 producers edition. i'm trying to record sounds from my mpc into to sonar. it'll give me the wave of the sounds in sonar. as soon as i hit the stop button in sonar, the wav disappears as if i deleted right after recording. anyone know what options i need to access and change in order to correct this problem? thanks in advance. peace.

That's really odd, I've never heard of that. Did you check all the Global Options? Do you hear the sound while you're recording?

yea. i did get the problem fixed, i assume there where some options that didn't get updated from the last reboot, or i made some changes that required reboot and i did not reboot again. all is well and good now. peace.

I made the jump from PE 3 to PE 5. Do it for the new instruments you'll get. It's worth the $179 for the upgrade (from 3 to 5)

what type of instruments? I do sample based hip hop and arrange/compose all of it in FL. I only use sonar for recording vocals right now though. Is there any keys/piano type instrument? Thats the only thing i'm missing really is something to make smooth keys with.

PSYN™ II subtractive synth, Pentagon™ I vintage analog synth, Roland® GrooveSynth™, SFZ SoundFont sampler, RXP ™ REX Player groove box

Roland® V-Vocal Variphrase™ vocal editing technology

Integrated inline audio and MIDI editing, arranging, and mixing all in one view

MIDI sequencing enhancements including advanced step recording

You can use the RXP to trigger your chopped sounds/loops, and with the 3 synths and the regular MIDI GM you have a slew of pianos and keys. Or you can download/create a piano/key soundfont and play it in the SFZ.

The RXP, PSYN, Pentagon and V- Vocal editor is exclusive to the Producer Edition, though.

Shit sounds nice but I doubt i'd be able to incorperate all that into my current process. In the future i'm sure i'll upgrade to like Sonar 9 or someshit lol. Thanks for hittin me back with the feature though, i'm checkin 'em out now.
