ummmm primo been "sold out"....

where you been?

fred durst was NOT a good look- good beat, horrible song.

honestly though... this is a good look imo. some of you act like music begins and ends with hip hop, and nothing else matters. for all of you shouting "sellout" here, ever stop and think that 20 years of the same old shit can get monotonous? whats wrong with branching out? nobody has heard it yet...once again i see people shooting something down before they even hear it.

and if you guys havent got the memo, she's got a phenomenal voice. if you dont think she can sing.... well you dont know shit about music then, we'll just say that.

Point well stated.

:thumb: I'm just wondering if he's gonna do a hiphop beat or a pop beat?

frankly, I have no problem with him working with Aguilera... it's his pockets... I'll just wait for the final result to see if it's nice or garbage

I think this is dope. Christina can sing. I love when pop and rock acts piggyback on Hip Hop. It shows that this is the premiere genre of music, this is where innovation is happening.

It's also good publicity for Christina, girl sings like a sista. The only two songs I know with Christina are Lady Marmalade, Let's Get Dirty, and that joint she did with Lil' Kim. And it's guaranteed I'm copping the album and single just to put money in Primo's pocket.

Just as most of y'all should be copping Mobb Depp and MOP joints off of G-Unit. What's wrong with heads getting paid?

^^^^ i dont think so... perhaps in terms of accomplishment, longevity, etc.... but realistically mariahs voice cant get with christinas... at ALL... lauren and mary have different tonal qualities... but christina has a tone and a power in hers that is pretty hard to match.... she aint at the bottom.... vocally she is a peer, now as a writer, etc.... as far as accomplishments? of course not...

I gotta disagree wit ya Truth. Maybe you prefer Cristina's voice over Mariah's, but Mariah is actually in the Guiness Book of World Records for the range of her voice:

"Carey is credited with possessing a 7-octave range, meaning she is able to go from an A2 (eight full-scaled keys below the lowest possible note on a piano) to a G7#-note without deviating from perfect pitch and all in the time-span of one breath. Behind vocal wonder Carey, who still goes un-championed, are Yma Sumac, ringing in at 5 octaves, and the late Minnie Riperton, with 4.5 octaves. "

Main thing is Primo Knows that he started this shit or a lot of the concepts of turntablism with production an the vinylistics and sampling and the other producers that came after recognize and respect that....but being a Dj and producer is still a craft that many lack nowadays they forgot about the turntablism, Boom Bap gave all of what you are doing its beginnings I mean think a lot of the reasons I get salty on ill is before as in a long time ago there was not all of this hating on the boom bap I think that transforms it into why I spew hate to some other members on the site that just dont really care about it LOL...I mean its an opinion but a lot of the reasons I like the site is that for the most part it was a lot of hip hop heads and with that go hand in hand the boom bap but anyhow it's useless for me to keep arguing the point....he has his fanbase and if you not a fan of course you will hate LOL....you cannot dis the past history or belittle it......he did what he had to do....now its the next gen turn to come with the innovations stand up and do you (without copying too much)LOL this man did it though......either that or Luke skywalker influenced what we hear now representing hip hop as a progression so ...but I think he was inspired by all of the other hip hop that was out....at that time and earlier because he wanted to be different.....but remember, him and a lot of the 90's DJ's are cleaning up right now with the SCION tour and other endorsements.....so anyhow its not beyond the realm that yes money will drive you to do whatever is necessary forget about your morals and groundings.....LOL.....so with that I wont be kissing anyones Ass Primo is a legend you cannot change that....he in the history book as such when it comes to HIP HOP...

Nobody can deny primo'a influnce as a legand. i have said on a number of occsions that primo has definaly paved the way for sample based hip hop. While am not the biggist fan of his music he definaly gets respect from me as one producer to another.

I made that comment becasue alot of times people cant move past a period in time... People think if hip hop dosent sound like him(or a certain way) then its not real hip hop.

WHile u may idolize primo and respect his skills, i do the same exact thing for orgainzed nosie. Primo and orginzed noise are on the same level and can be mentoned in the same breath. They are just 2 differnt approaches to hip hop. Its just a matter of your background and tastes, one isent any less hip hop then the other.

My comments were at people who cant see that and think hip hop is only suppose to sound an certain way. And for the cats who think artist's can't branch out and try new things..

I think its great he is doing his thing .. i think it will come out dope, they are both talented.
