Poor man's Copyright

ill o.g.
Does this method really work?! Say if someone uses my beat without my permission and hold the credits under someone elses name?! Can I sue them with just a poorman's copyright and not a congress copyright?! In the famous words of the O'jay's - "Help!!!!!! Somebody please!!!!!!!!! Somebody Somebody!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

One word...NO

1) it can be forged
2) You can only get back lawyer's fees and damages if you register
3) If you take your music seriously, then why even leave it to chance? $30 to save a whole lot of trouble. You probably paid more for your equipment and sounds- unless you dl'd FL and use stock sounds- then there's no point in copyrighting your material...stock sounds suck
4) Search next time...this question has been asked so many times- and always by newbies- and on so many other boards it's ridiculous
5) Good luck w/ your music homie... stay up...

Thank you sir. I guess I will have to dig up $30 bucks, a copyright form, and 2 cd full of the material I want copywrited and send it to congress.
