Hey yo I wanted to ask what method people use for playing guitar lines and riffs on their beats, do you record the real thing, use a midi equipped guitar, keyboard or get virtual guitarist software to do it for you?

Is it posible to buy one electric guitar and get and get totally different sounds out of it like funk and rock with some software or something. I wanna be able to have all kinds of guitar (including qusi-guitar synth stuff like in "I Just Wanna Fuck You" by Dre) with minimal outlay on different hardware, so what software, techniques etc.. can y'all recommend

i do both Live playing and Midi
I Build my Guitar out From Scratch..Lots of Tweaking and yes i can get them sounding Real.. takes too much time though i normally do it when im bored and taking a break from music making..

I also Play live guitar... on my tracks... or like when i have sessions with musicians and i just record em and go back in later take sections i like.. tweak to how i want.. then i build out a WHole Library in the nnxt.. riffs Strums.. layered strums etc.. this way when i dont have to a Real guitar.. i'll have a Guitar at my Fingertips

Adcice? well i mean there is practice.. and learn how to use that Pitch Bend there are anumber of ways to play using the pitch bend to get them guitars sounding liek they were really played...

If u need an Audio clip of a homemade guitar i've made Pm me

You can do everything you mentioned. You could get some guitar sound fonts online then load those into a midi keyboard and change them however you like depending on what software you are using. As far as altering the sound it takes alot of practice theres really no method to doing it. The more you practice the easier it will be for you to think of a sound and actually be able to create it. In my opinion my favorite way to sample guitar is to have someone play the notes for you. I am pretty shitty at the guitar so I will have one of my friends come over and lay down some riffs...then I can loop them or load them into my midi keyboard to alter and chop them however I like. LIve bass guitar is really good for bass lines
