i dont think the mpc has sounds loaded already. if you bought it brand new it'll come with a sound disk(i know for certain if you bought it with the zip drive). but the mpc doesnt come with sounds onboard. Peace.

[qoute] my mpc 1k had sounds on a sample cf card...maybe thats just the 1...never messed with the others[/qoute]

pretty sure thats the same for all of them.

as far as a "beat machine..." i would go with either a computer or possibly a triton or motif... idk i dont have either, my 1k is pretty much waht i work with.

i would consider it extremely imprudent to build a studio, which sounds like a semi expensive one, without a way to make beats and without the skill base on some platform. however, i may be wrong, you may be better prepared than it seems.

and if you are in a position to start making money rightr away... more paower to you. but thats now what its about.

MPCs come with a CD with basic sounds on them but nothing internal.

Syncrotech has a $40 multi reader I had installed on my XL. Go to www.midicase.com for info on installation procedures. Not quite sure on if it will work on a regular 2000 though.
