pauses

How do some of you put pauses in your beats,

do you mute tracks while recording or is it something you do on Seq level, like sweeps, Just wandering cause some of mine dont fall right,

I work mostly in pro tools so ill mute different samples or completely remove them. usualy cut out everything after the snare then let it return on the one. really effective.

when i record on my adats i use the mute on my mixer. must have good timing though or it wont sound right.

when I am recording a do it in sonar so if I want a pause I just cut the beat out (or what every you want) or just move the beat over if you want it to come in at the spot it left of at

I just cut that part where I want it to stop and bring it back in with a program call mp3 audio mixer.
