"Imagine every cell phone, radio, and television in your city suddenly broadcasting the same mysterious signal over and over. Now imagine these "terminus" transmissions evoking violent, uncontrollable, psychotic chaos from everyone who comes in contact with them.

The Signal invades the minds of everyday citizens living their workaday lives and having their sordid affairs. Suddenly struck by the power of the insidious transmissions, they are compelled to kill or be killed. Complicating matters is a zombielike resistance some characters have to the idea of remaining dead. The story violently explodes, blending bloody gore with psychological satire, for a truly original horror experience. The Atlanta filmmaking team of David Bruckner, Dan Bush, and Jacob Gentry tell the eerie tale in three parts (cleverly called "transmissions"), shifting perspectives to draw out a larger story that explores dark secrets and fears as well as jealousy and betrayal."

this was in the works before 'the cell' by stephen king, so it's not a ripoff. it was one of the favs at the sundance festival.

i'm a bit late to the game but...

ironman doesn't seem too lame. it's seems that at least they got a bit of the asshole attitude of tony stark right but even though it wasn't somethin' i read much i liked how he was effed up. a drunk and addict, self loathing, womanizer, greedy, and all that good shit makes him on of the better characters. this as a series with warts and all could be the shit.
also like the 1st armor inclusion

I was going to say, it sounds just like The Cell. A good read by the way.

just looking at all the more than likely crappy remakes, shutter, the eye, prom night, one missed call, etc...next year will be chock full of shite.

here's some 'original' stuff:

from clive barker's short story 'the midnight meat train'

'an american crime' truly based on a real story and not for the faint of heart. 1 of two films based on this sick tragic event.

'inside' a french film

REC (spanish trailer version). this is supposed to be a wicked spanish film, just released, and it already has a hollywood remake planned
