Everyone here knows I am a big advocate for the Open Labs stuff...I think they have another winner and it is in the $2k range:

from site:

Do you own any of there products? Have you spent much time with them?

The sound slate looks to be a competitor to the Receptor another product that just makes no sense.

Yes I currently have a Dbeat and previously had a Gen 3 Neko and love there products. Its works for me but to each its own.

There products are rock solid and makes a lot sense. A rackmount like this could be very useful especially for producers or for live musicians. Muse Receptor is a closed system and can only run certain plugins that are approved by there system. This is a completely different monster as its a complete rackmount cpu with more features and capabilities than anything on the market.

Everybody has there own opinion but use one first before you say it makes no sense.

I use the Neko Timbaland edition all the time....I actually love it. The soundslate looks like a good idea....is it practical though? That has yet to be seen...I haven't used it yet...but if I do, I will let you guys know...
