I'm sure you haven't pushed this software to its limits...you gotta strive to do that...are you saying you've mastered the software in a sense?

exactly what i wuz thinkin..get an mpd and use the pads on that shit or run it wit pro tools and rewire it and mix thru there theres so many things u can do to make it entertaining

EXACTLY...I remember feeling the same way until I started using it as a Rewire device. The next level of using Reason is going outside of it's box and using it as rewired modules alongside vsti's and vst's.

For overall music production I'd say Ableton 7......any DAW like Cubase, Pro Tools etc is cool but Ableton gives you more options without vst's or vsti's out the box. Having the vst's and vsti's just gives you more toys to play with. If your like me "the more the merrier".

Just changing your workflow can get the creative juices flowing again as well....
If you make a beat one way typically every time why not change the order or choices you normally make and see what comes of it...
A routine change can often bring about new ideas.

what does DAW stand for?

Isint pro tools or cubase better as far as mixing your sound after your beat is done tho

It's a preference thing....better would launch missiles at this thread. Pro Tools might be more "universal" than Cubase or Ableton, but better nah....I wouldn't say that.

If you are bored maybe try something else for a bit like re-watching all your favorite movies, going on vacation, or go see some live music. Just take a short break from the beats. If you leave it alone for a bit your inspiration will come back. Reason is just a tool after all. It isn't supposed to entertain you, it just helps you translate your inspiration into reality.

IN Ableton you can mix juts as good as cubase?

I mix just fine with Ableton and I've used Reason, Pro Tools (still do on occassion), Cubase, Acid, Sonar, Audition and a few more. The difference is the workflow. Ableton comes pre-stocked with a gang of audio effects, midi effects and instruments. They are not vsts, there just for Ableton but there as good as most vst effects and instruments out there. With those you still have the luxury of using your standard vsts and vsti's that you would use in any other DAW.

The main thing for me is that I have all these things with one screen to deal with which makes adding shit, and mixing easier because you don't have to minimize multiple screens or have multiple screens up to do what you have to do. One screen, two views (arrangement and session).
