here's a novel idea:
some of just dont like the product. simple as that. it aint got a damn thing to do with it being commercial. some people simply dont like the music and to sit there and say that people front because its commercial is completely rediculous... i respect and like a lot of popsitive hip hop... that has nothing to do with anything. i just dont like his product. his belief that he is the greatest thing to ever breathe is tiresome but tha tstill doesnt make me like his music more.. .i personally think his little metaphors are corny as hell.... i dont like his style... he talks like he is the greatest mc ever... and to me personally he is far from it.... i dislike his music, period... i hate when people try and tell me that it is for some dumb ass reason like it being mainstream... if i like somehting i like it.. if i dont i dont... just accept the fact that people dont like the guy and his music.. and they dont always have some "hater'" mentality as a reason for it other than just not thinking its all that great..
and tell me what is so positive about the new workout plan? he's just objectifying woman all throughout the song.... i wonder what Jesus thinks about that. last i checked thats the type thing taht Jesus is CLEARLY against.... and kanye doesnt even act conflicted about it... im a man, i understand full well the temptations of this world..... but when i deal with an actual STRUGGLE between my faith and those temptations people call me a hypocrite... anyone else see the double standard in that? but kanye talks about jesus in one song and then completely sexually objectifies women in the next song and he's just being real... you cant have it both ways. i think people are a little decieved here in acting like this guy is so "positive", because there is a lot there that contradicts those positive things...
drug dealers, stack your money! right? do whatever yo uhave to do to get what you want in life, even if it is selling drugs... and you got little kids on taht song... so what do you think they are going to think? they will, in all liklihood think that its ok to slang... now when they get hauled off and are lookin at prison terms for doing that, whats the positive on that one? whats the positive side of contributing to a plague of the community? getting paid and getting material things for you and maybe your family....
kanye's story doesnt sound like he had it all that rough on that level either... it sounds like he had it pretty good... maybe im wrong... but ive been in situations where i had to do some foul things to get by but that doesnt mean i would advocate those things...
of course this is just how i see it and i cant sit here and act like thats all truth one hundred percent... but some of us just dont care for the guy, some of us his personality rubs the wrong way and for some of us that arrogance turns us off.... and if it doesnt bother you good for you... and if you like him more power to yuo... but its a joke to sit there and bash people for NOT liking him.
