it's modular midi controller, you have various modules; knobs, buttons, faders, transport, touchpads, jog/shuttle. You can have a max of 128 controllers ( so the amount of knobs, buttons, sliders you can adres a midi cc# to ).

You can use this to create a daw mixer for your platform, controller for vsti or racked hardware in any setup you like. It would be dope, for example, to create an interface for the FL mixer, in that case you have transport for start/stop/backward/forward, a shuttle for dialing in parameters/bpm, 16 faders for the mixer and a 4 knob module per fader to control eq/ or hotswap to channel setting filters.

Or, you create a single channel settings interface with envelope controllers, filters, arpeggio etc. whatever function holds a midi cc or can be freely assigned can be adressed to any module.

but are they endless controllers and motorized faders..... i wouldn't buy a controller without these features too much dicking around

^^^^ that's a matter of setting the knobmodes though but yeah.... would be nice for a mixing setup but considering it's purpose is aimed at general midi appliances not neccesary. It would also boost the price up considering there's 128 knobs/faders to adres a motorised rotaryencoder (especialy when talking Penny&Giles). I can also imagine wanting such a automated setup to be on a bigger console than something that practicaly fits in a briefcase.
