Yeah but unless your really playing big block chords, etc. your not gonna need a full length keyboard most likely...

*The entire MPK series has pads on each controller right?....Yours doesnt have pads?

No it does have pads, but only 12 for some reason. I still got 4 banks, so essentially 48 pads, but it's just easier with 16 when I'm sampling.

Word. You can easily make due tho man. Just group particular sounds into each bank, thats what I do.
But it depends on the way u work.
For example, i always lay my kick and snare down first so I have bank A with just kicks and snares...then i move onto bank B which is just hihats and cymbals....then I move onto bank C which is percussive sounds like shakers, etc......just keep moving bank to bank....

If you got 48 slots for sounds, thats really quite a bit ya kno?

48 was alot, but I decided to cop an MPD24, got that from Fade actually. I feel that my work has improved since getting it, even if it's just sped up my workflow slightly. I use the MPK for composition now and the MPD for samples.

Yea Fam I got the MPK 49 last summer then started to sample and realized that 12 pads was a lil tricky when I sampled in 4/4 time and chopin 2 4 and 8 bar loops. I ended up getting the mpd 32 and Love em both. I use the MPD 32 for sample Chops and Drums and the mpk 49 for everything else. After using a MPC 1000 for a while those 12 pads are a lil different. Im pissed that 88 came out ith 16 pad tho. Damn you akai I could have saved a few bills lol.
