Have a listen to this:

I'm trying to work out what drum machine is doing the main kick-snare-hihat. Sounds quite like the sounds on Jacko's 'Billie Jean'.

Was thinking maybe it's a Sequential Circuits Drumtracks, but I've downloaded a few samples from of it and it doesn't sound the same.

Any ideas?

ill o.g.
i heard people sayin that k-os got his own band. I think thats not a drummachine. If you listen through that track to, the tempo changes off and on, like a live band. I never heard a drummchine do thatg

Yeah, I know what you mean. At the beginning of that track the drums sound kinda like a loop. The snare has definately got a bit of a synthetic quality and sounds really familiar - that's what made me think it was a drum machine.

Loose Canon - what you're describing is fairly easy to do with a drum machine. I'll describe how I do it with my setup. Trigger Finger/Radium 49 paired with FL studio 5:

Press the record button in FL, while playing the drum pattern, then adjust the tempo to the desired change while playing or cloning the same pattern.

Or the easier/more difficult way of doing it, based on skill level, is change the tempo manually while you are playing the pattern on the trigger finger. Just a thought...
