my sample sounds boreing and flat is there a way I can make it like jump out of the track. I tried usin eq and changing the pitch just don't work. maybe it's the sample. What do ya'll do to make your samples sound like they were composed over your drums? that kid

try exporting the sample and upping the los and what not. then putting the smaple back into the track Under the original sample. meaning u'll have it there twice. i dont do this.. I usually EQ it and add some effects on it, bring out the mids and waht not for presence, just as if recording. Peep someones thread they had about the Lo end Theory

Sometimes it's your selection of drums that compliments the sample. Maybe your drums are too hard and the sample just sits in the back. Maybe your drums are too soft and the sample just sounds too normal. Maybe your levels need to be tweaked. Maybe your drum pattern and rhythm isn't complimenting the sample. Maybe take out a couple hi-hats, or offset the snare, or take a snare out so it only hits twice per bar. When the rhythm sounds good, maybe change your actual drum sounds and see if that's it.

Post up your sample

If you want to make the sample sound better there are loads of things you could try (eq'ing, compression etc...), but if it was recorded from a really bad source then you might be just better off putting it on the scrap pile instead of trying to polish a piece of shit

treat ur samples like there a regular sound in the song. if using fl studio add certain effects to the sample.
