MXL 990 Cardioid Condenser Mic

Anyone have this mic?

helix posted in another thread about it and said it's pretty good, and someone else said they had "popping" problems and static?

I haven't heard anything beyond that and I found this mic on A REAL GOOD deal... anyone know whats up with this piece?

I could also go with a MXL MCA SP1 CONDENSER MICROPHONE if it's better for about the same price...

heh thanks for the back. I borrowed a shur pg-58 from one of peoplez here (jwalk) and am now just waiting on a good compressor. I will probably pick up the 990 anyways, just cuz it's so cheap for me and has good reviews everywhere. I was just worried about it not being good at all.
