Musicians Institute-Keyboard Program

[JKIEYZ]

I'm thinking about going to Musician Institute(www.mi.edu) for there keyboard training program.I want to really become a complete keyboard player and teaching myself just isnt working for me.

I wanted to get you guys thoughts on this subject.Keyboard training school or private lessons? which one will help me accomplish the goals I want as far as playing keys?

a lot of the best players learn on their own man, these people are selling you a dream in a diploma kind of thing...all you need is a real solid book and practice, for real. if you're paying for anything, it should be private lessons.

i think you'll find the results better in the long run...you could also hire a private instructor for a few months to get you a good grounding in the fundamentals and go from there, i know some people do that also.

a lot of producers, myself included, say oh damn i wanna learn the keys like storch or rotem, those guys. but most people forget those 2 guys are clasically trained pianists with 15+ years of daily playing and performance under their belt, so you can't expect that kind of skill to come in a year, or even a few. i'm teaching myself piano daily now and its going real well but it is a very long term grind, for sure. so just be realistic about results, you know?

Its a dope program though....know someone who went and they are learning so much .....

Also the homie went to LARS.....dope!

Listen dude... like people have said before, nothing is a substitute for private lessons.......TRUST ME , i still take lessons to this day and i have been playing for YEARS.....

Yeah it sounds like a good program but Its like $20,000 for one year so Im up in the air about it.Its either that or private lessons, how long how has friend been going there? Is he on this forum?

About 2 years he has been goin...no not on this forum

But there is no harm in doin private lessons....Its one on one with you and a teacher....that could help you for when u are ready to go to MI
