[Beautiful Noise]

I wanted to share how I've been feeling about hip hop music videos for a long time. I find 99.9% of all music videos that hip hop artists make are WACK! I really don't understand how any artist can spend so much time, energy, AND money on promoting their album, but make leftovers when it comes to music videos. The video should be even doper than your skills on a 3 minute track, your album artwork, and all the other BS that goes with making an album. I know money is always a factor, but I always see garbage when I'm on you tube...and I'm talking about underground here, not the fake ish we're slammed with.

I really can't remember the last hip hop video that moved me visually. I always use Wu's Triumph as an example, but that video is 17 years old now. It really sad, and I wanted to know if anyone else on here feels this way?

Honestly, I couldn't care less about music videos. I used to watch them back in the day, but even then they didn't seem important at all. I find that music videos are actually a waste of time and money, and today the money to make a video is retarded.

I know a lot of artists rely on videos, but the music should speak for itself.

I think this is one of the reasons why hip hip is at this state.
Music videos are made to be a platform to brag nowadays.
I honestly dont see any substance in any videos today and EDM made it worse.

about underground artists making videos. I agree, it seems that many have been influenced to be lazy because of the internet and all the technology around. just as long as they have they face rappin on the video. its all good.

Agreed, so many bad music video especially in hip hop. For my next record I am aiming for 4-5 music videos and I hope to really have great ones, not the same old same old. Right now Indie rock is killing the music video game. Check this out

This is one of the videos that moves me visually. The imagery of Em's verse and KGR'S verse is genius...and to do that kinda visual artwork can't be that hard. Nowadays, cats wanna do simple ish like being filmed riding around in a whip and being on the block with the neighborhood. Ish that was done 20+ years ago. You telling me that you spend all that time coming up with clever wordplay, but can't use the same brain cells to come up with visuals like Sway and Tech?! SMH!

See, that's the thing - if they want videos to be popular and relevant, then do something! Make the video interesting.
