hi people, got a bit of a dilema and was wondering if any one out there could help me out. Ive got a behringer 1222fx mixer with a condenser mic on channel 1, the mixer is connected to my laptop via a usb interface. it is conected to the cd/tape input and outputs on my mixer. I use the headphone socket on my laptop connected to a dj mixer and then into an stereo amp for my speakers. When i try to records vocals i want to hear my voice and the beat, i do this by connecting my headphones to my mixer, but when i try to record in sonar 5 it records the beat onto my vocal channel. is there any way around this? or do i need to buy a special soundcard or something like that.?? ive included sum pictures. please i would be gratefull if any one could help me. thank you, lee.

I Dont Knoow Sonar So Ill Just Offer Some General Tips.
You Should Get A Soundcard For Your Laptop So That You Can Connect Your Board Straight To Your Laptop And Then Your Dj Mixer To Your Board.
When The Beat Records Is It Overbearing, Does It Still Record Your Vocals?
Your Headphones Could Be Too Loud, Or If You One Of Them Folks Who Likes To Keep His Headphones On His Neck Or One Ear Off The Sound Will Leak.

Where Are The Red Lines Going???

dont forget also to check the recording settings from your soundcard in the WINDOWS AUDIO PANEL. u can set what signal u want to record wave, mic, analog mix, what u hear, midi synth and so on..maybe its set to WAVE then it will record the whole shit your beat voice and so on.also check your recording settings in sonar.just go trought the whole audio settings if all is set rirght then check the cables and shit.just double check everything.

good luck.

sounds like you need to take the output of the the computer ito the amp that plays the speakers and swaping it into the mixing desk, then your comp be playing as an input into your mixing desk so you will be able to hear both audios (cuz obviously the mixer outputs into the computer doesnt it? - so it sought of ends up like a circle as such)

hopw this helps
