MPC 40000 studio D

I want a MPC 4000 but the only ones available are the aDAT verisons. I don't understand this adat bull shit. What wires would I need to connect the adat ouptuts of the 4000 to an digi002? I know on the back of the 4000 it has a one adat optical in and one adat optical out if there's only one optical output how can I send 8 channels of adat to the digi002. I know I mightt sound like a newbie but I don't understand this adat bullshit.
