mpc 200xl recording help!!!!!!!!

ok i hooked up the "recored out" on my mpc 200xl, to the "record in" on my cpu.....now i have soundforge 7.0.......when i start playing the song on my mpc i have no sound coming out of my cpu speakers, and when i try to record the song in sound forge i get nothhhhing........its like my comp is not getting the sound (song) from the mpc.........what the deal, can anyone help.......please man, i need to know this in order to burn to cd, otherwise i am making beats for nothing.....thanks!

check your card settings. there is a chance you do not have the input settings figured properly. do you see any meters indicating incoming sound?

i saw the levels....but they were half way up the meter and not moving...and how do you check the card settings????

ok i got the sound to come thru my speakers...only mono...but f**k it i got it to work.........now the meters still don't move when i am trying to record....the program acts like it doesnt have in coming sound...................what should i try and do......i tried to record it anyway but i only got a hiss sound (like it wasnt recieving anything)....what do i try next
