Hi im thinking about getting one of these machines, and i can get them for around about the same price (£200 difference), so price is no issue really.

Also this would be my first MPC - im not upgrading from the 1000.

Another thing to take into account is the fact i have a Motif, therefore sounds and keys are also no issue. I just want the MP for sampling and sequencing.

wat u think?

if you can get the 2500, it's very very similar just faster and with more features, i'm actually picking mine up for christmas in a couple of days.

I sold my 2000xl for the 2500

I like it way better because it has more features and its a more self contained unit

like dude said earlier go to the official site and compare specs

but if u can get the 2500 for around the same price its the way to go

one thing that sucks about the 2500 is that with the current os you can't load .APS files or .ALL files. So if you are coming from a 2000xl and have saved all your shit with those types of files, you have to go back and individually name each program/sequence. I hope you guys know this already.

u dont have to rename everything, u just gotta resave everything as a separate pgm and seq

I love mine its like my 2000xl on steroids

I havent done any automation with the filters but I have used low, high, and band pass to have them samples sounding crisp along with some of the effects of course

why were u thinking of selling?

I was in the same position man. In the store on the phone with someone who knew about mpc's not knowing jack myself. I had the 2000xl in the box ready to go when my man said I should get the new 2500 if I was going to do it. Well I had the dough so I upgraded and this past weekend just started playing with it.
I like it.
I am used to the sp1200 and have done a couple of records on the korg triton rack and so thats where my keys were comming from but I would recommend getting it. I went ahead and got a 1gig compact flash card as well.
No "hits" yet but it is an interesting user friendly design.
They say the mpc is the best sequencer, on that fact alone I bought it.
