EZ guys, picked up the 2000XL this weekend, been fucking around with it and it's a great machine... However, I've got 2 problems that I can't seem to find the answers to in the manual...

1. So I've sampled in a section I want to sample... I cut the sound I want and assign it to Pad 1. When I want to cut a new sound from that same sample, I edit the start and end points, create a new sound out of it, but can't figure out how to assign this new sound to a new pad? I know I can zone shit, but is there a way to do it without zoning?

2. When I hit a pad, no matter when I release my finger the sample will play in its entirity... Anyway to prevent this, so that when I release my finger the sample stops!?

Cheers

this what you do..after the sample or chop is in. 1. go to shift program 2. select drum 1 3. hit parameters 4. to the right you will see tune, voice, overlap and poly..change poly to note off 5. edit your chop to where you want it to start and stop..hit pad..it should be able to start and stop on the dime....holla beaglin P.S. check out my post on this same page..you might be able to help me..

you know if you go up to the name of the sound like ----sound001--- hit open and copy the sound, then do the same but instead of copying change the name of the sound so you can find it easier. shift program assign ,, dial through until you find your sound, and remember whatever pad you hit last is what you are going to be dialing in for that pad.

i tend to like to copy my samples in case i make a mistake cutting or if i want to chop in a certain way etc.

hope this helps,

Shift program>drum1>hit the pad you want to edit>Params>go to overlap where it says Poly. For overlap Poly is default. change that to either Mono or Note off. dont know if this was answered but hope this helps.
