MPC 1000 Users...

I just bought the MPC 1000. Anybody have any tips on what I should get to go with it? Like, the memory for instance. What's the biggest that I can get for it? I dont give a fuck about the 2000, 3000 or other models. I just want to hear from you if you have the 1000. Easy

When i copped mine, the first shit I got was a 256mb Flash card & the 128 MB expansion ram.. i think those are KEY! I dont think you can get any more ram than the 128, but honestly, I dont think you will need much more ram than that...

Can i use shit from a regular store like Best Buy? Cuz with my Motif i bought a flash usb from Best Buy and the shit didnt work. I had to buy one from the Motif store.

No, I dont got an MPC, but from my computer geekness,,,I can tell you that you are better goin to Sam Ash or Guitar Center.

I bought a Kingston 256 mb Flash card from Target, works fine.. however, it doesnt pop out as nicely as the 32 mb that comes with the mpc.. that shit shoots out like a fuckin projectile!

Well, the thing about the MPC usb transfer is... well, it sucks. You cant use any of the MPC's functions while in usb mode, which can fuck up your work flow... what I did was invested $30 in a usb Flash Card Reader... its much quicker, and when i wanna put soun ds off my pc to the car i just pop the card outta the mpc (while it's on, even playing a sequence) pop it in the usb card reader, transfer, then pop it back in the mpc.. so much quicker, without having to stop your sequence...

yah, it comes with some kits, but they're pretty generic and wack.. i played with them for like 10 minutes, then deleted them off the card.. definitely get the mpc program creator like AMG mentioned, that shit is beautiful for creayting awesome layered programs right off the pc

Don't get that Akai memory. It's overpriced. Just get your expansion memory and CF cards from a computer store. I ordered mine from www.tigerdirect.com for like like 1/2 the price. Seriously, DON'T LET AKAI PIMP you, the other stuff works fine and is cheaper.

it allows you to create entire mpc programs on the PC, without the MPC attached... you could make yourself all kinds of dope kits, then dump them on your CF card, load em up, and start banging them out..

whatsup every1. i just got my mpc recently and was wondering if any of you know how to upload a sequence you save on the mpc on to a pc via usb port. i'm trying to edit this sequence i made on a wav editior but it reads the sequence i saved wayyyy different. when i play it on my wav editor it just plays a buzz. any input on this would be much appreciated. gracias~!

The sequence is data, not audio! So therefore it won't work on your PC, hence the buzz sound you get whne trying to play it.

On another note I think we should have a MPC1K Battle or something to that affect. just a thought!
