MP3 Player - Recommendations

So, I still have an ancient mp3 player that I'm looking to upgrade, thanks to a soon to come tax refund, I'm looking to spend about 100-125$ on a new one. Any recommendations? I mostly listen to hip-hop/reggae and some funky shit sometimes. Not really into the video and other extras really, but if its there, then great. I was looking at the Sony Walkman 8 gb, but I was put off by the lack of a SD expansion slot. The Sansa line I wasn't sure about, the one I did own was dead on arrival, so I'm sketched out by them. So if you guys have any advice that would be swell.

an old psp phat or psp slim... hack it, buy an 8gb sandisk card online for $30-$40... and u cant go wrong... i got 2gb of music, nes, snes, gameboy advance, genesis, chessmaster, god of war, scrabble, nba live, and the whole superbowl on there... and i still have space left... should cost about $150, but its all worth it.

oh yea, Sony's 16gb is $83 online now.

WINAMP! haha na really tho, I just use some old ass Creative brand 1gb mp3 player from like 04 or 05, it's mad small and it gets the job done



slik's recommendation is good, plus the SNES emulator is cool as shit on the PSP, you can also throw PSX games on that bitch... there's soooo much you can do wit a PSP, it's just not exactly THAT portable

The PSP would be dope, but I'm really just looking for something a bit smaller. Slik, where did you see that Sony? Usually the 16 GB goes for at least double that!

if its just for music then an ipod shuffle may be the best fir for you. unless you have to have the screen then the nano is perfect. just a thought

Man..ipod? Ipod is like Absolut vodka... Not the best out but marketed well..

Zune FTW....

Get a mp3 player from Sansa... you can get something pretty good for 100-125 as opposed to the very expensive iPod.

8gb...and it's all flash memory..unlike ipod....which you gotta use itunes to effectively transfer your music.

Cant really say I am a sheep for buying an Ipod.. are you on a "Dont buy Apple products" strike? If you want an MP3 player my personal opinion is Ipod. And its not cause I was sold on buying one. I love its features and smoothness as an MP3 Player.
