What monitors (size, brand, etc) is everyone rocking out with right now? Im looking into getting some new monitors with better low end (so if you got a sub in your set up, let me know). Id also like to know how your speakers respond in the mix.

I'm using those after years of using "monitors" that were no more than expensive hi-fi's. I could tell the difference right away! My mixes are better, even with my untreated room. A studio I go to has the BX8's and KRK Rokit 8's. They sound good but Creative Labs speakers would sound good in the right place! ;-)
I wouldn't use a sub, though. That would make you overcompensate in your mix and you'd possibly lower your sub frequency too much. Accurate monitors+accurate room treatment= accurate mixes.

I'm still using my 4 year old M-Audio Studiophile SP5B's.

If you're thinking of using an external amp, grab a pair of Event 20/20 V2's. The originals were damned good monitors for the money. The low end on 'em is good enough where you really won't need a sub to go with 'em and their sound is great. You'll never have a problem mixing with them.

I'm rockin' some KRK Rokit RP 5s. Them joints are HOT!! I just got them jokers last week and i'm lovin' them. Accurate and clean sounding. Got 'em off ebay too. Best $212.00 bucks I've spent in a minute. They go for $300.00 brand new. Very affordable and you can really do some intricate mixing on them! It just goes to show that size doesn't matter. I'll upgrade to those Mackie HR824 joints when we move into a house. Those bad boys BANG!! But if you are on a tight budget...then take a serious look at the KRK line.

Gotta agree wit X-sinna.
If u have $300, the RP5s are what you need.
If u have more dough, then go for the HR824s or the RP8s.
