you don't need a cd or anything to install for midi. You'll need software that is midi capable though and some sort of midi in/out device that connects to your computer.

yeah i got all the devices but software? i guess i don't have this
do u know where i could get one?

is it also ok that i'm using a midi interface for windows on a laptop?
or can this only be used for a macintosh?

it's just that i plug all the devices in the keyboard then to the midi interface then finally plug the USB to the laptop and as always u get that ding sound when u plug a USB into the port then a pop-up installation comes up telling me to insert the installation disc?

some help would be nice

Maybe your interface needs to have the drivers installed.

100% agree.

I take back what I said earlier about not installing anything, you'll need to install whatever software came with that interface. If you cant find it, vigorously search online and you should come up with it easily. Then, you'll need a program that is midi capable otherwise having midi into your computer is pointless. Like the keyboard has to be controlling or being controlled by something thats what the midi is for. There are several programs that use midi, sonar, pro tools, FL, cubase, reason, acid (i assume?).
