MIDI Latency with Cubase SX2

MPC2000XL (ofcourse!!)
Terratec DMX 6Fire (latest drivers)
AMD Athlon 2400+XP
Windows XP
Cubase SX2

I wanted to sync rec but when I hit 'Play' on my MPC Cubase start recording after 0.5 seconds and thats annoying. Because I cant work like that...
Someone know what I can do to resolve this problem?

Have you got the ASIO drivers setup in cubase?

devices>device setup>vst multitrack

Click the setup tab, make sure you've got the correct driver in the "ASIO Driver" box. Make sure you select the one that says Terratect on it. Those Windows ASIO drivers ain't fast.

I can't promise this will work, but it worked for me when i was having latency problems with cubase and my midi keyboard

yea, those default Asio drivers are wack, make sure u go into Device setup/Vst Multitrack , set the correct Asio driver and click on Expert and set the Audio priority to LOW, click Apply and u ready to go

yo po ethix what does settings the "Audio priority to LOW" do? whats the difference of having it high or very high?
