so, what do you guys use? why?

i was looking at the m-audio keystation 88 pro but then i found out it doesnt have aftertouch. so fuck that.

the novation remote looks nice but costs a bit.

im looking for a midi keyboard with atleast 61 keys, atleast semi-weighted keys, aftertouch and a bunch of assignable faders/rotaries.

any recommendations?

Well, with button, knobs n faders I'd go for

CME, http://www.arbitermt.co.uk/cme/cmehome.htm . Not many assignable knobs (enough in my book though). Good keys and weighted.

M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 -Key, MK-461C 61-Key, but jammed with knobs n faders.

But....whaddayawannadowitzit ?

thanks for the suggestion. ive heard about those keyboards before. ive heard mixed reviews though. at first glance they look a bit inferior but im not one to completely judge a book by its cover.

whichever keyboard i get, ill be using to control predominantly absynth and kontakt in pro tools. ill also proably be using it with reason and ableton live a bit too.

I got a Korg X5D and it's sells for $599.99, which is the same price I bought it for 7 years ago. Since it hasn't gone down in value it should be a good buy. It was suppose to be discontinued when I bought, but I saw it in a catalog this month.

That's nice too, in fact anything goes if it has enough button, faders etc....that's all the same, but keys are important. If you want nice key action you might wanna consider a good stagepiano with midi( try it in a store then look for a 2nd hand hehe) and something like a Behringer bcr midi controller (32 led rotary knobs/4pages/32 preset=US$154).
