Midi Controllers and their knobs

Does anyone who own midi controllers use the rotary and/or the slider knobs? I already a synth keyboard with midi but no assignable knobs, so i am considering getthe the Oxygen8 or Edirol PCR30 (edirol having the additional faders). But im thinking that i will never use the knobs and it will be a waste of money.

Does anyone actually use these assignable knobs frequently or is it just an added gimic?

Hey,

I use them all the time. They're especially useful if you have software synths and sequencers, it makes programming sounds and mixing a lot easier.

I use the knobs (and faders) on my Evolution UC-33 with Reason but am still getting the hand of it. Hoping to use it more...
