Yo i was in the same boat as you, i found out that the akg c3000b is better for vocals than the rode nt2. I tested them both and the rode had to much hi's and was not even in the sound. AKG was real accurate and sounded very good. get the nt2 if you want to record singing, akg for rap vocals better.Plus its alittle cheaper... hope this helps

Anything out the platinum series is great, if you happen to runn into a vocaliser bargain I suggest you take it away! It's probably a bit cheaper than the Penta but does the job nicely. no pun on the Penta, sure to buy it if you have the money.
