been getting real into mf doom recently. anybody know what he uses to make his beats. some of the samples he gets are rediculously creative. real random too.

sp1200....madlib does a lot for him prod-wise and he also produces beats for himself as far as i kno - usually straight loops, but dope ones.

yeah doom uses the mpc 2000, it aint even the xl and he just be sampling those 80's cartoons and some abstract jazz stuff.

Doom is the shit, I've always wondered what he used. I know that Duece's comment is right on about what Madlib uses, but I have never read anything about Doom's equip. A lot of other people usually produce the beats he rhymes on, but he produces for his Metal Finger's Special Herb's series. Some of which have been used to produce remixes such as "Nastrodoomus." It doesn't seem like he rhymes on his own tracks much which seems kind of weird, but I think he is a better MC than producer anyway. His beats are nice but I like a lot of beats that are used on his albums better. A while back, someone mentioned that he cancels shows all the time. Well, I was supposed to go see him last Tuesday and the show got canceled. But I did see him in March; so, it wasn't that big a deal. I would have to agree with you about feeling Doom though, I think that he is probably one of the nicest rhymers in the game right now and he has been around for a long time and under many incarnations...

that was all the gear they discussed with doom. Madlib says he's got the sp-303 and an MPC4000 right now.
