Damn, I wish I would have logged in last night at home. Sound cloud is blocked at work.

Did you use any effects or both tracks a dry recording/export?

the 2nd beat sounds like an MPC, not bcuz of the sample or anything, but bcuz MPC users tend to make tracks that cutoff immediately at the end of the sample... usually its bcuz of the limitation of the MPC... even though the Maschine can do this too im sure... but the 2nd beat sounds like the MP.

I agree with Slik, on this one.

In terms of SOUND, you can recreate the sound easily...but nuances like the sample cutting off is something that you have to look for.

The only hint of a difference is the volumes...the first track has a tad more umph than the second (volume/quality wise), otherwise, there's no real way to tell an audible difference...too many other factors come into play. Not saying that these guys are right or wrong but you could have a slightly better recording on either. Not saying that you did but, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't use either and you made the entire beats in Reason/Recycle or they both were made on the same sampler.

There are no mixing tricks at all, both are very dry.

@Formant, can you also say why you think that one is Maschine?

chopshop vs no chopshop, its not in the sound, or at least it shouldnt be (else thats your mistake lol). Its how you trimmed the samples.

Also, the test is a little bogus...you shouldve used the exact same samples cut in the same way as much as possible.

also, i didnt think he used mute groups on the mpc at all, its not how its behaving monophonicaly but maschine chopshops to zero-crossing and the mp doesnt.

@Lou no doubt, I hate gearslutz sometimes. I am always looking for tricks to hone my craft, but gosh that place can be a circle jerk.

at any rate Early AM is MPC and Que 78 is Maschine.

Not that this proves anything, its just interesting. And as Formant said this is very unscientific. :)

I love them both, but I love Reason more :)
