Within the next coming weeks I'm considering purchasing NI Maschine to add to my current setup. I'm currently using.......

Fl studio 9
Reason 4 as a Rewire
Gateway NV52 Laptop
AMD Athlon 64 x2 QL65 4 gigs of memory
Windows 7 64bit
1tB external HDD
180 external HDD
axiom 25 keyboard (soon to be replaced)
MPD32
M-audio Fastrack Pro USB

I've heard that it runs just as smooth on windows 7 for those who dont have mac. How is it working for those of you that run it on PC? will I run into lock ups and stuttering? Is it worth purchasing? I'm pretty much sold on all of the videos i've watched and also what i've read. Your input will be much appreciated.

perfect? flawless? C'mon now, those are some powerful words for something that is constantly being updated/corrected. Not hating!.. just saying... What do you call a donkey? a mule or a jackass? lol

Well you can say the same about Fl studio, its always being updated and always in a Beta test. So many upgrades I cant keep up. Not that thats a bad thing, but how long has Maschine been out compared to Fl studio? Maschine is hardware and/with software which something is always or in its beginning stages subject to upgrades. Understanding the technical and logical reasons behind it I also understand why when 1.6 came out people thought their hardware bricked when they by user error did not install it correctly or didnt stoped their antivirus from running to complete the install of 1.6. oh by the way Dacalion im asking for input not Hardware software debates lol......

Yeah I know KF, my point was - sometimes how a person can describe something can be misleading and NO, updates aren't a bad thing but you've been around long enough to know that everybody gives praise to what they "just bought", "it's the greatest thing since God created the earth, maybe even better"...lol. Anyway, my post was really directed at dp just to pull his chain a little, it wasn't directed at you or your question in any form , so for that I apologize sir, my bad =). Good to see you back bro.

EDIT: (If it helps...I just purchased Maschine and so far it HAS been perfect as well as flawless, I haven't even upgraded it yet - (it's still in the box =))

*my lips are sealed*

I'm looking into loading it into my Win setup as well due to the fact I don't have Nexus for Mac...yet..

However I'm running XP Pro, still (refuses to upgrade).

Nothing is without flaws...I've seen it crash on another computer, forcing the user to reinstall....that's happened to me with FL, too... So Nothing is without flaws...it's all about the individual's setup that may cause those things to happen...KF you have some good specs, I don't know if 4GB RAM is enough to run it with VST support on a Windows platform, I would look into that as well...

I do know that it works pretty great with 4GB on Mac...and I run a shitload of stuff on Maschine (Waves, kontakt, etc). Maschine is pretty good with not killing your memory.....

4 gigs of ram is totally fine. but usb asio on win7, you might get some spikes there. plus, how low can latency be with usb audio on win os? 8 ms? 12?
if you already use the mpd for controlling audio, I'd give maschine a try. install the demo and take your notebook to the store. realtime audio works better on xp tho, 7 still struggles.

@Mono one of the good things is I still have xp with pretty much the same specs installed on another computer I rarely use it tho. What I may do is just try it on there first.

Aight so I decided to buy maschine, so far I havnt made any beats yet, I'm just learning all of the operational functions of it. Its def a learning curve but I think its dope. i downloaded the 1.6 beta, also being able to input VSTs it really dope. I can see it will cut down my time on making beats.
