And that brings up another point... MPC's became very popular when PR and a few other producers swore by them but anyone who has had a MPC and a SP will tell you that the SP ran circles around the MPC, matter of fact the SP would run circles around the 2000 and 4000 as well. Point being... hype and all that means nada when it comes to Maschine to me. You and others have shown great results in your music but I can't help being leery of spending the bucks on one. idk man, Im sure I will break down and get one eventually but I'm gonna hate it if the bugs aren't worked out. Oh! and I have had NO problems with my SP. My MV has had little to no problems so I'm back to square one when it comes to Maschine.

People at your level Dac only get Maschine when their running out of space and ready to scale down. Eventually one day your going to go into your studio and say your tired of looking at all this mess, and decide to go mostly software.

LMAO! I said that about the same time you purchased your Maschine (a year ago)! You guys are right though. I like the tenacity of NI, anybody who has that much dedication deserves my business. With Roland trying to compete with PT HD, I'm thinking now is a great time for me to support NI for keeping it real with Maschine. Im gonna get one after the new year for sure. Thanks!

i still want an sp (and an mpc), for the sound. look at damu, he doesn't need no software, and his beats are the sickest. exile too. but I'm afraid I'm too lazy from the usability comforts of maschine already. i bought the sp404 some time ago, but i barely touch it. i dont touch my asr either. why should i spend so much money on an sp?

I'm all software, but the cats whose beats i dig most, all SP-MPC-ASR. Call me esoteric, but it's the sound man, it's the sound. it takes me lots of vst tweaking to get there, when i should be writing rhymes and making beats instead.
it comes down to whether you dig that punchy lo-fi, gritty sp sound and mpc swing stuff or not. if you don't care about it, then there's no reason why you shouldn't go maschine.

i'm getting an mpc 2500 anyway, LOL, I want it

It has swing, but it does not equal the MPC quantization and swing algorithms. Also the vintage modes are really nice, but it is not the same thing. An SP is an SP. However, I value Maschine for what it is and for what is still to come, and I would never sell it.

oh, ok. I'm not a fan of either but I can respect wanting some vintage gear, unlike those that are trying to do everything at lightning speed and selling their vinyl *coughs*. Its cool that you feel that way about your music...props!

Yeah, as soon as I posted that, I found it...found out how to cut it and everything...Thanks...

I'm working now on importing samples into it.

Baby steps....learning all over again is actually pretty fun.
