@dac

If you have the $ for it..... TRUST ME....You won't use anything else........

Everybody is acting like this thing is the hottest thing since butter but I blame that on the "I jumped on the bandwagon" mindset. Same thing happened with the MPC but Roland had a much better piece of gear in ALL aspects. As far as the money goes...well you just gotta know how I roll...lol. Anyway, if you say it's dope i'll take your word on it, I just want to hear more praise than I'm hearing and I'm not just talking about on illmuzik, I mean in general.

@dacalion

But that is all operator error. Have you ever been to the FL support forums?

For example if you go to the FL support forums you seem complaints of latency issues, plugins crashing, BSOD's caused by FL, MIDI not working, CPU spikes. ETC

I do NOT assume the problem is FL I assume the problem is a setting or the user.

Why do you not assume the same of maschine? I have pushed Maschine hard and have NEVER had a crash, latency issues, or any problems for that matter.

Dude you're slipping on your knowledge, FL Studio hasn't crashed on me EVER, not once! and I'm talking 3 versions ago when I first got it. As for latency issues, that relates to 2 things - RAM and settings, a one time fix if done correctly. But hey I understand, whatever we're using at the moment is always the best. Last year it was Reason and so on...Thats why I've been playing around with other DAW's just to see for myself, so far I haven't been impressed enough to change yet.

compared to an mv or mpc, stuff can seem half-baked. but it's not, you just can't compare a stand-alone device such as a hardware sampler to a computer software, especially not audio software, where there's many interface compatabilities to maintain. issues is the price for the flexibility.
but what maschine does it does good plus it has great potential and it's constantly being improved. i can do everything i need to make beats with it, in lightspeed compared to any sampler. you just have to pull some tricks to get that hardware sampler sound, but that's not a maschine problem.

mono I couldn't agree more with you, to be honest, I don't need a sampler at all. I can sample, chop, sequence, TIME STRECH (lol) and much more in within FL. Technically, I don't need anything but a laptop and FL to make a dope beat but thats not even the issue with me, I just want to be convinced that my $600 will be worth it, and I'm listening to you more than anyone else on this whole topic because I think you would know before anyone else. That said, I recall you saying something about it's stability and you wouldn't do a live show with it...that speaks volumes to me. I wouldn't do live shows with it even if it were perfect but I would expect for it to perform at home as if it were performing in front of 50,000 people. nahmean?

I recall you saying something about it's stability and you wouldn't do a live show with it...that speaks volumes to me.

that was about the public beta, not the official version.

in the end it's what sucio said: if you have the money, you can buy it, and you won't regret it. what's most convincing about maschine is the fun factor and how fast you can come up with something loopable.

but i won't tell you you need it, because you don't. just another piece of gear

Well no, I will never give up Reason and it is still my main DAW. And I am someone who has used both an MPC and MV extensively. And I am telling you Maschine is inspiring to use. And if someone comes to me and ask's what to purchase when just starting out it will still be Reason.

And I second what Mono said, I asked him how the beta test was going and he was honest about the bugs in the beta version and BTW beta=bugs. There are NO issues using the non beta version live.

Damn Dac you really seem to have a strong hate for Maschine lol..i first thought is was just to argue with DP..but you are seriously trying to discredit this fine instrument whenever an oppurtunity arises

Noooo J, not that at all. Not very long after Maschine came out, I went to the music center, picked it up, walked to the cashier and was going to purchase it but then I realized WHY I was going to purchase it. It was because of all the hype. Personally, I'm not a bandwagon kinda guy, I've learned the hard way. So that was the wrong reason for me to invest $600 in something that I hadn't done any research on...to add to that, my setup was working fine for me so you have to ask why was I even looking at it? Well you gotta know me, I'm a gear junkie, so much that I'm almost willing to bet money that I have atleast twice as much personal gear and gadgets than anyone on this forum. I've been buying studio grade gear since the late 90's when hardware was at it's prime, even before I could even make a beat. Back to now, these days you can do everything using a computer and software. That in mind, I've spent A LOT of money in the past and nowadays a huge system is just not practical or necessary. So, now I'm at a point in my life where whatever I buy has to be justified and proved. Everyone is saying one thing but when I look at the questions and issues that are surrounding Maschine I'm seeing something totally different. Anyway, the reason I appear so negative is because I really want one and with Roland turning away from this type of music production, I'm sure I will have one soon. I just can't buy one because dp, Sucio or whoever says it's the hottest ish ever made, especially when I see so many others having issues with it. I assure you that it's no hate against it, but some of you guys aren't helping me feel otherwise at all...lol. Perception can be a muhva!

Edit: I'm gonna leave it alone now, as for dp, he knows how I am so he can tolerate my bs more than most people (he knows when I'm just acting dumb and I know when he just wants to argue about some crazy ish so thats cool or whatever)...lol. I'll just wait until either mono tells me the time is right (which he pretty much has...), dp comes to NC and twist my arm until I give in or I just decide to go get it. NO HATE THO!

Agreed...

I think it's just the sample that was loaded that gave me the problem.....

I did another beat about 2hours ago and it exported without issue. Which is just one of those software things..

Dac...All I'm saying is....If you know someone who has one....TRY IT FOR LIKE AN HOUR. You'll see...the hype is well deserved. I won't ever go back to FL...as much as I loved FL...I was the guy that sat in a room full of MPC users and told them that I will never buy an MPC. I was the same guy that played a bunch of beats for someone and he thought I had spent thousands on equipment for my music....

I absolutely love FL, however the workflow has improved significantly since getting Maschine....

But like I said....Maschine is ONLY at a 1.5 version....Wait til like 2.0 comes out...It has made significant improvements since 1.0.
The hardware portion of it is what makes it so damn sexy....It's like an MPC and Image line had a baby...

I completely see where you coming from Dac..I went thru a similar phase and have fallen into hype..If i knew what i know now i honestly would of never left FL or at least not as soon,but i had a cousin in my ear telling me hardware is the end all be all and all the super producers in the mags showing me there 2000xls. So a year into beatmaking I scrapped up some cash,dropped FL and bought my motif and a year after that i bought a MP. Now i love both of those pieces of equipment(more so the motif) but i believe it stunted my growth, i spent more time trying to incorporate new equipment instead of learning how to make better songs.

Now back to the Maschine it is honestly want Sucio said about it being FL and a MP having a baby. Matter fact Imagine line missed out by not making a designated controller for FL because thats all it is pretty much. It especially works for me because i dont have alot of free time anymore. As i am typing this i am just getting off work. With Maschine i can get ideas out quicker than with other things i have used so i can take full advantage of what time i have. Just my two cents and its cool you play Devils Advocate. You cant have everyone gassing it up LOL
