im not sure if anybody's noticing, but Best Buy is on a slow (or maybe fast) takeover... select stores now have a pro audio section... and im not talkin a room... the one in Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn has 2 floors dedicated to taking Sam Ash (who's located across the street) out! we can compare them to Toys r Us right now, but given time, u best believe you'll be stoppin at Best Buy 1st, b4 u go anywhere else.. the Beat Thang is a coup for them.. for those that dont know about their pro audio section, will see it and spread the word once they show up... so while we are laughin about comparing them, Sam Ash and other stores are not. :-/
there once was a time Hyundai was laughed at... but that Genesis has been mistaken for a Mercedes a few times (and have u seen the Equus)... they did their hw... so did Fruity Loops.. an unknown producer (9th Wonder) made a few hot trx with it and people noticed... now its called FL Studio, and no one's laughin anymore, theyre usin it... Best Buy is doin their hw as well... b4 Best Buy was in my neighborhood, Circuit City stood tall... CC folded, and Best Buy quickly snatched that vacant building.. like i said, the takeover is happening right in front of our eyes... comparing them to Toy R Us will soon be nothin... theyll be compared to Walmart.. the choices that we once had will slowly be gone.
as for the inside story.. if they did decide not to work with them, i hope it doesnt bite Sam Ash or Guitar Center in the ass... Sony once approached Nintendo with a CD based game system... Nintendo decided no, (they wanted to stick with cartridges and the Nintendo 64 was born) and Sony decided to do it on there own... does anyone have at least 1 model of the Playstation 1, 2, or 3 in their house? im pretty sure u do.
i'll just say this... if they can sell u a computer, a monitor, an M Audio controller, and Reason, without u leaving the store? Sam Ash and Guitar Center is losing the battle.. Best Buy could care less who's laughing now... 5-10 yrs from now, theyll be laughing.. in one section, theyll have Guitar Hero, yet in the next section, theyll have Fender Guitars... dont say it cant happen... many of us here, have lived long enuff to see similar situations unfold with other companies.
