I've been trying to tweak the sound of the samples I use lately by putting phasers, choruses, flangers, and EQs. Just for the fun of it to see what kind of unique sounds I can get. Is there anything else that I could use to manipulate the sound of the sample?
Stacking sounds, diff combos of fx on each, Sound enhancers, compression, FSU effects, buffer fx, list is endless. Lurk around kvraudio.com Is there a specific texture/sound you're going for?
Right off the bat, EQ is your number one best friend. Number 2 is your dynamics plugs, ie. compression, etc. After that its all about playing with send effects and having fun....
Try some reverbs with late pre-delays. Time-based effects are always dope to mess with. Anything that modulates the sound is really fun too but should be used in a way that doesnt take away from the track. - All my opinion of course.
