mani read that XXL Yellow Nig interview in a thread in here... and he was talkin about how he was doing an article on eminem the "producer".
ok, cool, i'll probably wind up reading that...................................
but everyone else gets that little section that asks like five questions....... there are SO many producers more deserving of an article and have been for years, but once again this guy gets the press.

of course yellow nig nkows taht it will translate to sales, cant fault the business aspect.

all i'm sayin is that its jacked that real producers that have done it for years (alchemist comes to mind....... ayatollah, hell even havoc..... jay dee, hi tek, yeah there are many others, but those arethe cats i listen to and know.) and dont get JACK. and em isnt anywhere NEAR the level of those cats (i know, i know..... dont even say it.) in longevity, quality, skill, experience....... whatever though, just venting i just thought that was cold blooded to put him out htere when so many other cats who are more in need of the publicity, but hey.... tahts just me.

Speaking of cold... damn its col out this end... well at least it aint 0 degrees yet.. but anyway look at dre... and then look at em... i dont see em getting more props then dre... its just a well known fact that dre is a living legend whereas em is just a superstar... and yes, there is a difference... besides the fact that dre made em who he is today... i can honestly say that they both have styles of beat production taht match the immediate hip hop audience... and not all that can be said for all producers... its just a matter of popularity at this point... and whoever has the style that fits mainstream america the best gets the magazine cover...

Cold Truth I get your point, but do people like Alchemist, ayatollah and all those other producers really mind they're not getting main stream attention?

People in the know how, know that Eminem's not a real producer. Hell, he knows it himself but he doesn't care because it up's it his profile. But with the producers like alchemist etc.. they may not be in XXL or Source but they're still getting paid major dough.

These guys (especially Scott Storch) have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, but then if you asked your average hip-hop fan who he is, they wouldn't have a clue.

Reminds of the BBC Radio1 documentary "Black Market Breaks". Marley Mall quotes Storch saying "F*ck it, look at my house," when he asked him about Dre taking credit for his beats.

Thats my 2 cents

yeah, i understand all those things.... but still, you dont think that an article can take them from where they are to another level entirely? a full article in a major magazine would likely generate new interest, up the price they could charge by upping the demand.....

and above all elese, it benefits us, the fans, the future artists by showcasing the guys that we respect, that we look up to and look for- i just think that at some point it would be nice to see some love shown for someone besides the shady/aftermath/timbaland/rocafella/murda inc camps......

i personally liked that article, and think em's pretty humble about his production skills. He ain't the grand daddy of the almighty drum machine, but his love for hip-hop is evident. and hip-hop is hip-hop, music is music, regardless. hes just tryin to step his skills up like the rest of us, anticipate the future. In that article, he even said he wasn't even chargin people for his beats, not yet anyway. Why is everybody asways dissin that guy? He brought real hip-hop back for me. Who cares dre brought him in. better him than puffy. Dre saw potential and he capitalized on it. Simple as that. He did his time in the underground circuit, paid his dues, now hes in the spotlight and everybody elses dick is on fire. Whats the big deal? 7 deadly sins that what

haha man i'm not even gonna get into this one again... he gets dissed about his tracks for good reason and thats ALL i will say....

but this wasnt about how good i think he is (everyone here already knows i pretty much think "his" beats are a joke)- or about dre and that connection, or his love for hip hop- or even the reasons behind his success as a(fraudulent) producer....

and lav, yes, i know how the industry works, i know the politics involved, i know the whys and whatnots, etc.,

i was just stating what i thought about him gettin that article when there are many others that dont get any press whatsoever- producers as a whole, unless you are timbo, primier, dre, legends like that- dont get very good coverage, so its disapointing to me that certain guys get the love when others get none whatsoever.

i know why its like that, i know the industry has no heart (unless money counts),
