Shit, when was tha last time music was about tha music on tha damb television??...That shits lost now and its quite unfortunate...I could really give a flying fuck about who makes tha hottest or craziest videos for their fucking songs!!...Its music u fucks!! MUSIC!!!!??!?!?....Or at least its suppose to be...TV has taken over so much nowadays, that fools dont even judge whether a crew is hot or not by their tunes but instead by how good of a actor tha muthafucks are, and do they fit into tha "cool look" or tha "stereotypish 'mook' figure that people want to be jus like"...Is it jus me, or is that completely fucking retarded!?!?...We seriously need to bring it back to tha B-Boy man...Wut tha fuck is next, Old Navy rap vidoes?!?!....I think i appreciated music better back when there wasnt so much media hype and dilusion...Thats why i still stay away from tha tube...its always some lame ass fake plastic bullshit that fuckers bite onto like piranhas jus a little too much - to me its like you dont gotta think to buy a record anymore cuz tha media feeds you so many subliminal messages that you dont have to now...OK i guess i did rant...fuck it tho i dont care, i was jus thinkin of how that shit irritates tha fuck outa my ass these days! lol

Well, i dont watch tv like 99.9% of tha time but everytime i do ill flip through tha channels till i hit some music, and it jus seems like its degrading tha culture everytime i see tha wack shit on Mtv so it makes me fustrated...I dunno if id watch more tv if this was different, but i think i would enjoy it a little more, since thats usually where my channle ends up even tho i dont want it to.lol...

I hear ya Duece! I stopped watching videos a long time ago for this very reason. The only time I watch a video nowadays is if I just happen to come across that channel. I always liked a certain artist because of their music, not because they looked cool holding a bottle of champagne, surrounded by a million ho's.

Even the so called "underground" artists are making wack videos. They try to make it look like the usual videos you see from big-name artists. But then again, I've never really been a huge fan of videos at all, when you think about it - they're basically just standing around rapping to the camera, WOW that's going to make me go buy their album!

Fuck yea, i agree with deuce. Everyone nowadays is being judged on how much ass there is and how big the spinners are in they're video. I mean dont get me wrong, I watch the video's with ass and spinners but I still think that the shit is just ridiculous. A song is meant to be heard not to be seen. You shouldn't be judged on your song by your video, but thats the way the shit is and its fuckin stupid if you ask me.

I have to disagree with you on this Duece. I love videos. I record them and watch them over and over again so I can learn all the moves. Then when I get good enough, I perform the whole song without watching the video in front of my teddy bears with my shirt off in my room. I am in the middle of learning all the moves from the Usher video and then me and my fiance are gonna learn the moves from the Beyounce & Usher video.

Hey man, I remember when I was in Highschool and i would get home and watch BET for hours. I would wait for Rapcity to come on,,,ya know back when Joe Claire and Big Lez was hostin! I loved watchin them joints cause it was all about the music then. cats made videos on a budget then because it was a thing the label wanted done. Yea...I wasn't trying to make light of your topic. I just new that a ton of other people would have the same intial response I had. I saw some new show they have on BET called "The Next". And all I could think was "next what?" because everything was the same thing. Girls and cars. I did see the Kanye and Dialated video and I wished more videos would have a creative edge like that. But i guess its cool to have these dumb videos because it makes the dope videos stand out.

I wanna shoot a video where I have a car like a 1996 Dodge Neon on some rims and have a bunch of midget chicks and girls missing limbs dance around me while I rap. And you know I gotta have the uneccessary slow motion explosions in the background. just to make fun of all the dumb mediocre stuff we see in videos now, kinda like that Roots video "What They Do".

we have yo! raps on german mtv, but its only the name,got nothin in common with the old format.
i ment the original one.
we even had a commercial alternative music channel here, with "supreme", a fat hiphop station, playin every video from dj vadim to the artifacts, they even had live performances by jigmastas, arsonists n shit, but it was not rentable enough. thats the point. they shut it down.

I've seen some awesome music videos and i'm definately not talkin about the current trend of rap videos that are filled wit the same bullshit, its rare but there are hella creative videos out there Like hella artfull shit that can bring the songs to a higher level kinof.. but ya i see where ur comin from when u say "fuck a video" but don't generalize it like that and not have ur mind open to a sick video, just ignore the bullshit videos cuz theres been good videos and there will b more
