I have a fast track pro. I'm in the market for a new sound card...this looks like it. As soon as it drops....it's mine.

Not a great M-audio fan here but aside from that, its a mediocre interface with daw controllers embedded. I'd rather pay a little bit extra for good i/o, leave the contoller part is (if you really need this, so many 13" mini controllers for less then 50bucks doing the same or even more).

The roland octa capture for example, though a bit more expensive, gives more bang for the buck.

I've heard these several times, also worked with vs-100/700...really nothing wrong with those pre's and converters. Automatic recording leveling is nice but keep in mind that not every source can be used this way (like when recording jazz/classical).

I don't record jazz/classical but I was definitely sold on the automatic recording leveling! I'd spend an extra hundred for it....

yeah, just had to mention that sources with huge dynamic differences shouldnt be used with it.

dac...that top 10 is just bollocks hehe The only ones i agree with being on that list (aside from chart position) is the rme and motu but they also piss on the other gear on that page(also pricewise). Other than that i think Juno doesnt review anything there other than what's in their distributor's catalog (where are the emu's?). Again, no pun on focusrite itself, but those and the lexicon dont exactly have any top 10 status lol and proven troublesome in the past (some companies just dont have the interfacing experience).

lol, yeah I didn't think that you would like the list either, my intent was for information purposes only. I really like the MOTU UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid, only 2 pre-amps but 10/14 i/o plus it has FW and USB.

Wow its hard for me to believe that Sweetwater would carry and sell gear thats so below par...good to know though. I even find it a little hard to believe that MOTU is still in the interface business, seems like no one would EVER buy/support their gear and they would just discontinue it. Hmmm, something to think about...

Honestly Sweetwater is one of the reason's Motu is still in business. As Sweetwater is by far the largest MOTU reseller.

Let me clarify the MOTU comment.

They work great on the mac side, on the windows side the drivers are 50/50 The hardware is nice. Motu's has a well deserved reputation for terrible support. Sweetwater doest care about that because they do there own support. So I would not say the devices are totally below par. But RME has fantastic drivers and great support. So if it is between the two, its a no brainer.

Oh I see, you didn't clarify yourself on the previous post but this time you did. It's funny because had I just read your first post alone, I would have been under the impression that MOTU interfaces are basically garbage, now I'm getting a different view, it depends on what OS you're using...Mac is good/ Win is 50/50...I get it now...thanks for the enlightenment!

MOTU (MAC ONLY THANK YOU!)

I'd say RME is a grade up from motu. Aside from the hardware i think most people simply are convinced due to the software.

I've had the motu customer experience and we knew more about the product they did. The units work great on mac but some features dont work as they claim as in our case daisy chaining 3 8pre's into an aggregated device. But as single unit they're also a bang for buck.
