Looping Drum Patterns and using the same sounds from a drum kit(snares, etc)

Hi, so is it alright to loop a drum pattern over and over? Or could it be switched overtime when the pattern get's old. Also is it alright to use the same sounds, snares, Kicks etc...in other beats that you have used previously?

You do whatever sounds best....I've looped a drum loop through an entire record.....i've also chopped them up....it varies....it's ok to do both.... Don't be stuck on a specific formula.....experiment with everything, you might end up pleasantly surprised....

Do what you like not what other people think is best. Some of the best producers have a signature sound because they've used similar drum kits, thus creating a sound you can be familiar with. No rights or wrongs, just do what you think is best.

kanye west used the same drums on his whole album, according to him. he chopped up the drums from dr. dre's xxplosive. i think that was on the graduation album if i'm not mistaken.

Yeah @wrightboy I think it was Graduation where Ye did that. But it goes to show how much variety can be brought from similar sounds, just tweaked and use of different patterns/signatures.
