I'm looking for Software that'll calculate/Give me a notes fundamental frequency. Theres no time for charts or equations.
Extra bonus points if I can adjust the tuning aka A= 436 instead of 440 or does other calculations.

Any Ideas? References? Thanks!

Running windows btw

hmm Chris, I must say, this passive aggressive behavior is very unbecoming of you. (aka I dont have a clever response lol)

@Shon Ahh crap, I'm on PC. (This is the first time I dislike saying that...) theres gotta be another way!!

Are you on a Mac or PC Dox? MusicMath for Mac is free and it does exactly what your looking for.

Hello,

I have a small chart that I photocopied out of a book that I got, which is taped infront of where I work. Lots of similar ones on the net with the Freq + Note per Octave. Its really the quickest thing I find.

However, something that might help everyone - is a Free Plugin called Span by Voxengo. Its a Spectrum Analyser that gives you a reading of Freq & Note per Octave.

Simply hover the Mouse Cursor over one of the Peaks in the Waveform & it'll give you a reading.. even in +/- Cents. Theres a Hold function that allows you to freeze the movement in the reading to take a closer look. Pretty handy.

I'd recommend going into Lo_Freq or Lo_Fi Mode (cant remember what its called exactly now..) as it gives a bit more of a magnified view of the peaks. I find this Plug great for checking anything really, but it gets used the most on the Drum Elements. It totally has changed how I work.

I've got one on my master & opened on my 2nd screen permanently. When I want to check something, I solo it. By looking at the Note & Cents of your peaks (and using an ear sometimes... LOL ), you can nail what you are trying to do very quickly.

Heres a link to it: http://www.voxengo.com/product/span/

I know Ableton has one on its Spectrum Analyser, but this is far better in my opinion. The GUI is just a lot easier to view.

Cheers,

J

lol thanks. I'm up on Voxengo but havent been so in the last year or so. I'ma try this out along with their other stuff. I kinda owe it to them seeing as a lot of my early stuff was mixed through their stuff.
