Bucky what is the diff between a "mixtape" and an album??

Im just wondering because to me, whatever time was spent on whatever a mixtape is , it could have been spent on an album.

Im seriously asking , because I have seen people releasing albums and calling them mixtapes...
Is it just not mixed as well?
i mean no one ever uses TAPE anymore so really Im sorry to interupt your thread hell Ill even give you a beat to help but , please tell me the diff bro...

Well... to me and what i mean when i say mixtape, is when i put together a project thats not always full length tracks, home recorded material, and FREE..

Mixtape is Promotional Use Only, Albums are for sale... meaning you have to own the rights to all the music composed and recorded to sell in stores.
