Who's rockin' Linux? Just curious to see who's using it for either regular computer use or actual music recording. Let's use this thread for regular Linux conversation and tips & tricks too.

Right now I have Linux Mint on both my desktop and laptop as a dual boot with Windows.

P.S. Please don't turn this into a Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux debate!

I used to run Puppy Linux on my previous computer, it's one of these mini distros, ...I kinda miss it (I really hate CUPS tho)

Linux on all my web servers, I don't admin them so I think they are running Cent but I am not sure. I also have a Nuke workstation running Mint and I have Ardour on it. It rocks!

How good is Ardour compared to say, Cakewalk, Cubase, PT, etc?

Ardour as far as an editor goes is fantastic. I actually have mixed a 8 song album in Ardour for a folk musician and it was great. Midi sequencing sucks and of course there are not as many plugins, you can get Windows VST plugins to work but not %100 reliably.
