sugar hill gang, the funky four plus one, Grand master flash and the furious five, Lady D, MC Rock, kurtis blow and the jazzy 4 mc's. Now at that time in 1979 charts speak for themselves the top 3 was sugar hill gang, kurtis blow and grand master flash at that time they was the shit!
later in 1983 or 1984 then run dmc , houdini, newcleus and afrika bambata was the shit then in 1984..
