funny thing: everyone has a different vision of what hip hop is or should be, and as moderators we have no right to tell people that they shouldnt post topics that are opposed to our personal vision.

diss tracks these days are pretty laughable. its usually a list of threats rather than lyrical power.

its strange how this has happened. why people wanna rip peoples heads off these days instead of just makin a fool of them in rhymes.

I think there's a lot out there except quality and skills, you can find them 10 to 12 years back, that's almost 2 generations I (and other senior members here) have seen passing by. Hiphop today just sells better than 10 years back. I cant blame the 9-20 year olds these days for digging the stuff of recent, but all I can say is that the entry level of quality hiphop has been dropped mmm...pretty much from himalaya. But that's talking industry wise, I cant believe they shit their trying the stuff up the people and the wasted space on the chartboard top 10's. In all due respect, but the stuff I hear coming out all them motifs, triton and whatever great solution of modern technology has been nothing but preset flipped through a ssl9000 or any ams-neve, that's what it sounds like, absolutly no harmony. Besides that peeps cant seem to get off the quantized 16 beat "breaks" and if there was any it was sampled or just jacked from a sample disk and played back. It's hardly an art or a representation of skills. The rest is really a turn off, Kanye West has no modesty in his tracks, they're all fully overblown and he raps mainly about his godcomplex. I dig this dude if he'd rap more about what's going on today and produced his beats with subtlety, I mean, the cats got talent but like Eminem would eventualy be in permanent writersblock and turn to just producing but unlike Eminem knows how the stuff really works. And damn it, just when JayZ makes dope track he droppes out the game...

Just my 2cent on any of these cat's dedicated topics...

Really, nuff' said...

But I really want to emphasize on what been said before, the site carries its weight on knowledge about issues regarding the production of .... personal opinions towards any of these topics will grow on a man's (or woman's) perspective and make this site relevant and a usefull resource.

All this blabbering about em's reportoire etc you can read about via all kinds of media, in fact you're thrown to death with it everywhere and dont see the need for excessive exposure of such here. I would't go as far to leave this site but for enthousiast of the art its much less atractive thus reducing those resources to this board leaving nothing but noobs which is no fun for everyone, let alone the effort and succes of fade's innitiatives. I'd like to see this site dedicated and biased to producing and business related.

Let it be known that:

I want to express my opinion due to the recent deterioration (example: ManDAmyth's obfuscating thread: https://www.illmuzik.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13734).
My good friend and fellow moderator, Freak, recently wrote: "They Come.. They Leave.. They Get Banned.. We're Still Here Doing Our Thing - Still Making Moves..." (they=new members, we=seasoned members\moderators). This is so true - this is the essence of IllMuzik. Many people have used IllMuzik in a very positive way: acquiring new friends, collaborating, gaining knowledge etc'. All these Race\Religion\Politics threads are simply worthless and inconsequential. This is a Hip-Hop portal, and it's primarily based around Hip-Hop culture. There are enough places on the web + private messaging, where you can talk about all these disputable issues. Please help us by avoiding getting into controversial discussions and arguments. We are making great progress on a daily basis, together as a team and individually. We, the moderators\staff - one by one, are DOWN TO EARTH people. we are here to help because it's part of our vision. We don't do this for $$$\fame\recognition. Screw those who can't understand\respect that...

Personally, I'll never forget IllMuzik; IllMuzik is where I met and teamed up with most of my best friends and partners. I owe a lot to this place: it has a special soft spot in my soul.

Make the most out of IllMuzik while it's possible, this place might not be here forever ya know... The world is constantly moving, you never know what will occur tomorrow!

Thanks.

Hip Hop culture???? We ignore racism??? We ignore politics???

That's the problem with Hip Hop culture there is no dialog about race and or politics. I am baffled as to why two people can't continue a dialog in the public domain of this site.

If a member of the site doesn't want to engage in that dialog they can ignore the thread. Far to often in issues including and outside the scope of race/politics/religion threads that are getting many responses from members are shut down because a few selected members don't want to engage in the discussion.

I have used Illmuzik in a positive way. i have gained many friends and have done some dope collaborations. When a lot of rappers allude in their rhymes to "Supreme Wisdom" and write songs dealing with racism and politics. How do these not fit into the portal of Hip Hop culture?????

What is wrong with controversial subject matter??? What are you guys so scared of???

A member of this community had issue with closing of threads. I realized now I shouldn't call out Fade in the lounge but by PM.

Anyone that knew me throughout the years here knows that I have major opinions of Race, Religion, and Politics and one day Fade asked me (and the other people in the thread) to stop it. It was no problem and I thank him for it now because after that the time I spent here was MORE focus on hiphop than those opinions. The people here are giving this site and it's resources as-well as time for free and it is not respectful to argue with them about their policies. Long time ago when Fade asked us to not discuss these things I was a little upset because I had many other things to finish saying in that thread but later on I understood it, if your here for music there are some sacrifices that you must make. You might not understand why these policies are put in place and because of that lack of knowledge it is iggnorant to assume you are correct and 90% of everyone is wrong. I hope you (ManDAmyth) and others are able to see this before measures are put in place to retain the illmuzik integrity.

peace

Christ, you sound like Kanye. Look, homey, it says "Hip-hop production to the next level" not "Taking political and racial debate to the next level". That's what they got College for.... you go ignorant, you become awaken, then you get your dreams crushed and you don't give a shit. Lately you been seeming like the dude at the party, while everyone's all on cloud 9, you'd be the one getting all hyper-philosophical and debating shit. Ease up. Listen to Common... that'll help you relate. Plus he's ill.

WHAT?! And I don't? What EXACTLY do you want to say by this puzzling statement? Come on now! That's a quite disrespectful thing to say...

I respect everyone and everyone's opinions to the fullest! It's just that there's a place and time for every debate. We're doing this in behalf of the community.

I think\hope that you're a minority, claiming that I don't respect everyone's opinions! THIS IS simply ridiculous and hilarious at the same time!

One Love,
Wings
