Noone was protesting selling drugs and killing. Corporate America, gotta love it.
+1

My thing isn't his lyrics and the virtuousness of them. That's not what Ross, or an overwhelming majority of hiphop artist today do. My train of thought goes like this...

Reebok's (Corporate America/Pop Culture) 2013 logic:

drug dealin- coo
drug using- gotta have it
objectification of women-bring it on
murder-can't do without it
glorifying materialism-must have it
Ni*@a being used a minimum of 40 times a song-wouldn't be rap without it

lyrics that appeare to condone rape- HOW DARE HE!!!! GET HIM OUTTA HERE!!!

Let's say I had never heard of Ross or any of his raps. And my daughter or son puts on that U.E.N.O song. That cd is getting ejected waaaaaay before any lyric about slipping things in drinks.

This whole scenario says more about Reebok and our culture than Rick Ross.

FYI. The preceding line in the song says: I die over these Reeboks/ and u ain't even know it.

this is just stupid. all that happened here is this....

Rick Rock got famous rapping about all the same shit. Reebok sponsored him knowing this. Nothing new has happened except someone has made a thing about slipping drugs into drinks, Reebok got negative publicity thus effecting sales, so Reebok scrambles to save the profits, drops Rick Ross. Personally I think the only perpetrator is Reebok, for ever using Rick Ross in the first place. Soberminded hit the nail on the head, "This whole scenario says more about Reebok and our culture than Rick Ross"

Im telling you , nothing is about music any more, its about brands.
Ross is a brand, if people suddenyl sart hating that brand then any brand associated with that brand is going to distance itself, its all about business.
Slightly off topic Ross can't even come to the Carolinas anymore, he pissed off some gang which has put out a death PROMISE if he comes here ever again...Which is also stupid (except to this gang obviously), I have no idea what he did.

I think he used their "symbol" on an album cover (which is ironically the star of david lmao) and made raps comparing himself to founders of certain gangs or at least prominent members. That's what I was hearing/reading.

Anyways I would still endorse Rick Ross and Tiger Woods...
